Below is a list of common fees.  This is not a full list of fees, so please click here for the board rule that contains most fees.  If you have any questions, please contact the board staff.

If you have turned 70 and submit proof of your age (such as a copy of a driver license), you may be eligible for a free license.  Please contact the board staff with any questions.

 

• Registered or apprentice license (first-time or renewal): $50
• Barber shop permit (first-time or renewal): $50
• Registered-barber exam: $85
• Apprentice-barber exam: $85 for each exam (written and practical)
• Instructor exam: $165
• Late fees: vary according to how late the renewal is.  Please contact us for more information
• Duplicate license: $10
• Barber school permit (first-time or renewal): $130
• Barber shop application: $170 (which includes $50 for the license and $120 for the inspection)
• Change of shop manager: $50
